Argento Bassoon Reed

Really pleased with the quality, tone and range of the reed.

I found it worked at once, I did not have to scrape or adjust the wires. The sound is excellent throughout the range. High notes are reasonably easy to reach but I could not get top D. (I often have that trouble and it may be a reflection on me but I can get top D on every Legere plastic reed easily.) It is quite hard to blow so I will get tired quickly as it is. That is easily adjusted though. This one is in my bassoon case as my concert best.

I was attracted by the promise that the reeds were ready to be used and not disappointed.

The most consistently reliable reed "out of the box" that I have experienced with a good, easy sound and just the right amount of resistance. I can’t see me ever giving a reed 5 stars though, just because!

A really good reed, plays well throughout the registers with good tone

I have found that these reeds suit me very well. I am able to play them without further intervention, with good sound throughout the range. I can also tongue quickly. I am trading up from my previous habits, but well worth it!

These reeds are ok but not as professional sounding as my previous Argento reed. Play a bit flat, but should improve with adjustments.
