Urbach Bassoon Reed

A great reed !

I love playing on these reeds as they play well through all the registers and really suit my Renard bassoon

Great Reed

These reeds produce a lovely even sound and need very little adjustment. I would greatly recommend them

A very good reed. Good

A very good reed. Good tone and sharp articulation.
As will all my reeds, I tweek them to my own specific needs - very little tweeking was needed with this reed.

Great Reed

This is a brilliant reed- it arrived in good time and was easy to break in. It does have a sort of buzzing timbre but there must be a way to tweak the reed to avoid this. Quite strong in higher and lower registers and very responsive.

Should be good, once it's broken in

This reed has potential but it's still a bit raucous. I'm preferring the 'C&S Professional' reed at the moment, but I've had the Urbach ones before and they've turned out well after a blowing-in period.

CGG---- initially good -- subsequently

CGG---- initially good -- subsequently needed a bit of knife work---had stiffened up but that's ok --- now play brilliantly

Great, reliable reed

I’ve ordered this reed twice now, both times it has arrived promptly and in good condition, and has been a consistent and reliable bassoon reed. Plays in tune throughout the register, and is easy to ‘break in’. Will be ordering again next time I need new reeds!
