It took one month to get here!

I’ve been using this in conjunction with the ‘making bassoon reeds is easy’ booklet and it’s certainly helping me get better results, although I always seem to have more problems than are listed! Much less confusing than trawling the web for a million different opinions at this early stage in my reed making journey.

Bought this book to help my 15 year old son, who is learning the bassoon, to tweak his reed. He was having reed problems during lockdown while having bassoon lessons via Zoom and his teacher couldn't help him to sort it out. She recommended this book, which has very clear instructions and is very helpful. We are only making very subtle modifications so haven't completely solved the problem yet but we are definitely going in the right direction. His reed is much easier to play and sounding better.

This is an excellent little booklet and I use it a lot!

This pamphlet has clear illustrations and concise verbal instructions. Its Problem:Solution format makes it easy to troubleshoot issues common to bassoon reeds. I've used it on two reeds with different issues and both play better now. It is spendy for its size, but I'll save in the end by resurrecting reeds I thought were unplayable.
